Why Fun & Fitness Gymnastics?
Gymnastics facilities are not all created equal! This incredible sport produces some of the strongest and fittest athletes in the world. It s also a sport that involves height and motion, and the utmost care has to be taken to provide a safe environment for your child. We have assembled one of the finest professional coaching staffs in the nation, who strive to ensure our students skill progression.
Plus, with one of the strongest competitive programs in the country, Fun & Fitness seeks a higher standard of instruction for our recreational gymnasts. What does this mean? Well, we liken gymnastics to math: you have to know how to properly do basic skills in order to proceed to more complex ones. In order to execute a tumbling pass, a lot of work will first be done in headstands, handstands, developing abdominal, leg, wrist and arm strength, and in gaining multiple fundamental tumbling skills first. Once basic tumbling skills are achieved, an athlete can then progress to working back handsprings. Once a back handspring has been mastered, then more advanced tumbling skills will be introduced. Those spectacular tumbling passes that wow the crowds at the Olympics don’t happen overnight!
